WEC: Using silver sterling sheet you will create your very own unique domed silver pendant. Tutor Kirsten Hendrich will introduce you to jewellery making techniques such as doming, soldering, texturing, punching out silver discs, oxidising and polishing. Choosing sentimental words or quotes, tutor Kirsten Hendrich will guide you through the process of letter punching your silver, forming it into a bangle, soldering it securely, oxidising it to highlight the wording and then finally polishing it to create your own unique piece. Please wear old clothing or come equipped with an apron to protect clothing. Before the session, please have in mind any wording or quotes you may wish to stamp onto your bangle. Carve Your Own Chopping Board workshop 4.7.15
WEC: Design your own or choose one of sculptor Ruth Wheeler’s latest chopping board range to finish off and decorate with carving or pyrography (wood burning). Using tools to shape the wood, you will be shown how to use jigsaws, sanders and drills for making holes. Be prepared to get messy! This is a perfect workshop to gain confidence and skills using power tools, gain an understanding of how oak works and how to sand to a perfect finish.
